Snap Shots of the Via Francigena

Enjoy our snap shots of walking of the Via Francigena. The Italian Section starting from the Aosta Valley and ending in Rome. Around 950km of fantastic walking and was a trip to remember.

  1. Thanks so much for the video. It made me want to strap on my pack and walk out the door. I can’t wait for my own VF adventure in 2018! Ciao Mel

      • Did you find the VF was well way-marked? What guide book/maps did you use? At this stage I will be walking solo, so a little paranoid about not getting lost!! 😉 Thanks, Mel

      • Hi Mel Don’t be paranoid on getting lost you will be fine. It is well marked but like any trail if you don’t keep your eyes peeled you may miss a turn. Its ok locals are always keen to help. As for solo you will be fine there are increasingly more and more pilgrims on the route each year. I have a friend right now walking and she meets plenty and another was walking a month back and was from day one in company of others. I did write a post on the Via Francigena – the Italian leg on this site. has all planning details to give people a help in hand including the books I used. Check it out and please contact me if you have any more questions I’m happy to help. You will be fine and you will have an amazing time x
